About: Leah Kiczula



Leah Kiczula a photographer, print maker, and artist living and working in Portland, OR. She is a graduate of Marylhurst University with her MA the Pacific Northwest College of Art with her BFA. Leah is interested in myth, legend, folk lore, and fairy tales, which heavily infulences her work. She creates in many different mediums including photography, photogravure, screen printing, and lithography, but her true passion is alternative processes. Experimenting from within art is Leah's ultimate goal. She also does graphic design and layout for posters, stickers, and albums. Aside from art, Leah is a lover of heavy metal who enjoys a good show, floating down rivers in the summer, and listening to history podcasts.

Taught after school science to students age 9 to 13. I utilized the A.K.A. Science curriculum along with my own interpretations to lead the class through creative experiments, trivia, and creation
2010 - 2011 Portland, OR Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls - Teacher
Taught art based workshops for girls, aged 8-16, and the adult program. Helped students create and print a design for their ‘band’ which, as a group, would be screen printed onto shirts and posters. Also lead the zine class working with students to create a short zine about their band, influences, and experience at the camp

Worked with students and instructors to help with printing needs, train new users in press operations, print high quality fine arts prints, and maintain printers. Taught digital lab classes on Adombe programs and proper printer use

Lead Editor for four consecutive issues. Worked with PNCA community as well as guest authors to produce a submission based magazine

Documented artwork of prisoners under the age of 18 for documentation and presentation purposes, designed posters and flyers for the organization, filmed and documented multiple protests
